Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 11, 2026
- We do not collect personal information about your child.
- Your child's nickname, birth month and progress stay on your device.
- No ads. No third-party tracking or analytics in the app.
- We never record your child's voice and never ask for photos or location.
- Apple or Google handles all payments. We never see your card details.
This policy explains how the Babbalark app and the website babbalark.com (together, "Babbalark", "we", "us") handle information. Babbalark is an app for parents and caregivers who want to help a young child learn to talk. It is designed to be used by an adult, together with a child.
1. Who we are
Babbalark is operated by [OPERATOR LEGAL NAME], [POSTAL ADDRESS], [PHONE NUMBER]. You can contact us about privacy at any time at support@babbalark.com.
2. Information that stays on your device
To show the right words for your child's age, the app asks you for:
- a nickname for your child (it does not need to be their real name);
- your child's birth month and year;
- which English you prefer (American or British).
The app also keeps track of which words you have practiced and which words you marked as "My child said it!".
All of this is stored only on your device. It is not sent to us, and we cannot see it. If you turn on your device's own backup (iCloud on iPhone or Google backup on Android), your device may include this information in your personal backup, which is handled by Apple or Google under their privacy policies.
3. Information we do not collect
The app does not ask for, collect or share:
- your child's full name, photos, videos or voice recordings;
- your location;
- contacts, or any other information from your device;
- advertising identifiers.
The app has no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking tools. The app does not include chat, social features or any way for a child to share information with anyone.
4. Purchases and subscriptions
Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). They handle your payment information under their own privacy policies. We never receive your name, card number or billing address from them. The app only receives confirmation of whether a subscription is active, so it can unlock content.
5. When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use it only to answer you. Please do not include personal information about your child in your message. We delete support emails when they are no longer needed to help you, and in any case within 24 months.
6. Our website
babbalark.com does not use cookies, analytics or advertising, and does not load content from third parties. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically keeps basic technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and the time of a visit) to keep the site secure and working. We do not use these logs to identify or track visitors.
7. Children's privacy
Babbalark is meant to be used by parents and caregivers together with their children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Parts of the app that are meant only for adults, such as settings, purchases and links to websites or email, are protected by a parent check that young children cannot easily complete.
Because we do not collect personal information about children, we do not hold any such information to review or delete. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, for example by email, contact us at support@babbalark.com and we will delete it.
8. Your choices and rights
- Delete the information in the app: remove your child's profile in Settings, or delete the app. This erases everything stored by Babbalark on that device.
- Emails you sent us: ask us to see or delete them at any time.
- Residents of the UK, the EU and other regions with privacy laws: you have rights to access, correct, delete and object to the use of personal information we hold about you. Because the app keeps your information on your device, in practice the only personal information we may hold is your support emails. Contact us to use any of these rights. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
- Residents of US states with privacy laws, such as California: we do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
9. Security
We keep the amount of information we handle as small as possible, which is the best protection there is. Support emails are kept in a password-protected account that only we can access.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects how we handle information in a meaningful way, we will also tell you in the app before it takes effect.
